| Review: | USAA is by far the best. They paid my claim in 1 week for a pistol that was stolen out of my truck. They went after Progressive when a driver hit my car (progressive did not want to pay). I paid nothing. Every time I have called other insurers to try and beat my rate (1,000,000.00 umbrella) they don't come close! I have been with them 20 years, my wife 35 years and my Father in Law 58 years. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Watch Out For Cars With A USAA Bumper Sticker I was rear-ended by a USAA customer the day after Thanksgiving. The kid was doing 50 MPH and texting when he hit me at a stop-light. The USAA adjuster who finally called after five days says they have no responsibility to repair my car or pay what it would actually cost to purchase a replacement. They claim they pay you what your car is worth, and they get to make the formula for this. $3000.00 worth of recent receipts and copies of worse cars selling on e-bay for over twice their offer will not phase these hard-headed adjusters. Avoid USAA at all cost, they are dangerously crooked. Comments [ 3 ] |

| Review: | gouging paying customers I just recently received a letter from USAA stating that they will be basing their premiums on a person's CREDIT report/rating as opposed to driving record. Have any of you heard of this one? It sounds like another way to cull their customer base of "liability". This smacks of health insurance companies that research whether or not you are "likely" to get diabetes, and then set your premium based on "research"/ or dropping you altogether for pre-existing conditions. I don't see what a credit rating has to do with a person's risk behind the wheel. In fact, I'd be curious to know where their "scientific" data comes from? I know a guy who drives a hot mercedes to work every morning, lives in a nice home, has a good income, but he SUCKS when it comes to being a decent driver on the road...yakkin' on his phone, texting, etc. His credit may be good, but his driving skills suck. Now who do you think is going to get the better premium? Him, or me? I have never had an accident, never had a speeding ticket, never had a parking ticket in 30 years. I did, however, go through a nasty divorce, and lost my home to foreclosure because of a court system that would not act prudently and swiftly in order to save the home. Do I deserve to now be punished further, financially, by an insurance company because I had a home foreclosure? It wasn't that I didn't try to save the home, I just couldn't get the judge to hear my case. He refused, and allowed the foreclosure attorney carte blanche...I had to represent myself. This to me is really evil... to take advantage, twist the laws to benefit you, and punish the working poor even more. shame on USAA. I will be looking elsewhere...but I surmise, that the State of TExas, and Govenor Perry have opened this door for all insurance companies to follow suit... what to do? Comments [ 1 ] |

| Review: | almost a phony insurance Co. Stolen and totaled van. Almost two months have passed and no settlement. Claims adjuster has been rude and obnoxious. Have had insurance with USAA for more than 15 years with very minimal claims in past. This is a company to stay away from. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | 25 years and now this I just received a notice from USAA that they are canceling my homeowners insurance effective January 2 because I live in a area that has a high risk of forest fire. I just moved to Portland Oregon after 10 years in Southern California, the last 6 of which were in San Diego where we had to evacuate our house last year and nearly had to several years before that. I don't know who the idiot is that is making decisions there but I've been with USAA for 25 years. I have 2 cars, a vacation home, my primary residence and also umbrella insurance with them. I have had 1 claim in the last 25 years and that was when someone drove into the side of my house. THey seem to think that I will keep all of my other policies and insure my home elsewhere. I think they have a really screwed up idea of how this is going to happen. But more importantly, this used to be a great company. I have never shopped around or questioned their rates. When I needed insurance it was just automatic that I go to USAA. I don't know how much I've paid in premiums over the years but I know they've done well. But no more. If they think Portland Oregon is more of a forest fire risk than San Diego then maybe I don't want to be insured by them Comments [ 0 ] |
