Review: Watch out for the Hartford
The Hartford has reported that the following incident was my fault:
I was on an US Interstate, speed limit 70 in TN. Going 70 in the left (fast) lane I was coming up on a semi when it blew a left rear tire and the casing came in front of me in about 3 seconds; I could (1) go off the road at 70 into the grass median or (2) hang on and hit the casing. I chose the latter, being afraid that I would roll over if I hit the median at that speed. I had no choice,
Hartford says it was my fault as I was following too closely; under that logic one could NEVER pass a truck on a 4 lane highway.
THe result is my premiums go up almost double because of the reported "at fault" accident that cost over $1000.;
I am more than mad at this

Review: Watch premioums soar when you submit a claim
My rate doubled after submitting a claim for an accident. When I called to find out why the clerk said it was because I reported too many miles on the car. And this was with my AARP affilitaion. Just watch these guys.

Review: the hartford
Poor customer service. Would not pay for a claim that was not appraised by them prior to the repair. I asked to know how much my premiums would increasee over the next few years if I were to submit the claim. The Hartford would not tell me or even give me an estimate.
