Review: AllState Refused Responsibility
We were recently hit by an AllState driver. Our car (Jetta) almost immediately lit up on the dashboard like a Christmas tree (oil, engine, airbag, drl, slip prevention, bulb). By the time we got the approval to repair the car (4 days) all the lights but 2 (engine & bulb) were off. Allstate wanted US to accept responsibility for paying for a diagnostic check on our car because "the lights being on may or may not relate to the accident". The keep saying they will "approve" the check, but if something comes back as not related to the accident, we are responsible for the $100 cost of the diagnostic check! The repair shop has replaced a blown bulb 4 times and it keeps blowing! Now we are being forced to pick up the vehicle with no diagnostic and a blown taillight because they refuse to accept responsibility. For the safety of my children in the car and the safety of everyone else, I am placing a warning sign on the back of the car to let everyone know that Allstate refused to properly repair the car!

Review: Check mileage for 30 days and report???
I called Allstate to add my son when he moved back home. I told them he worked 2 miles from home part time. When I got the updated policy, they had rated him as driving OVER 7500 miles a year. I called ,got transfered, put on hold, disconnected after over 15 minutes. I called back and was told to write down the mileage and call back in 30 days to report how much the car was driven. I told them that I did not make the mistake and I could call back and say it was driven 10 miles, why wait 30 days? They will auto debit my checking account for the wrong amount before the 30 days! I asked for a supervisor who told me the same thing. After I told her I would be cancelling my insurance, she told me I could file a corpotate complaint and someone would call me in a few day. I am shopping for a new insurance company while I wait for someone to call me!

Review: A "10" for lies and deception
Allstate employs many adjusters and when we were victims of one bad driver, 4 out of 5 of those adjusters tried all sorts of tricks to not pay for the damages including giving us a check that was not even close to the actual repair estimate, they lied to us about replacement vehicles, they produced a repair quote without considering all the accessories or their value, and now they have determined the repair estimate without the auto body shop's input. It's been an eye opener. When it is not your fault, you shouldn't lose your property, I thought that was what insurance was for. They would rather pay 5 adjusters for endless hours of coercion than to just fix the vehicle. Is it a game? When you lose, they win! That "good hands" thing? a marketing ploy at best. Shame on them!

Review: Your Not in good hands
After using them as my carrier for over 15 years without filing a claim; I finally needed them and they weren't there for me. The other persons carrier treated me better and financially stepped up to the plate more than my own. The other person was at fault and their carrier paid fully for everything including a rental car and anything else for longer than Allstate would. Basically, they are only there for you if you don't cost them any money; the moment you need them is where they fall flat. I currently switched to a company called Amica based on the reviews I've read and so far; so good. In short cancel your Allstate policy and find another company.

Review: The Worst at Handling Claims
Don't ever get hit by someone insurred by Allstate. My Daughter was rearended last year by someone with Nationwide insurance and the entire incedent could not have been handled better. Now for Allstate... My Wife was rearended this time. They have been extreamly slow to act on getting things done and when asked by the body shop to come look at additional repairs that were needed they took three days to come look at it. Costing us more for the rental time. When we got home from picking up the car we noticed that there was still a crease in the back door and bumper cover and an interior panel damaged in the accident looked like it had not even been touched. In talking with the body shop we found that the Allstate Adjuster had not approved any repair to these items. After many phone calls they are having it go back to the body shop and are at this time acting like they still want to argue about the damage and repairs. They have one chance to get this right in the morning or my lawyer is on speed dial.

Review: They happily took my $$$ for 26 years.......
........and then - when my family fell on hard times and one of my young adult son's became a problem all they could do was call to harass me to get him onto SR22 insurance - which he didn't need because he wasn't driving. My new friends at State Farm offered very helpful advice about refinancing one of the vehicles and agreed to exclude my son which Larry Duffield Insurance of Redmond could not be bothered to suggest. I was paying up to $700 a month with Allstate and I'm down to $280 now with State Farm. I greatly regret having wasted 26 years of payments to Allstate given the way I was treated.

Review: Fine until you need them!
I was hit by a crazy driver and was hospitalized. Allstate did all they could to NOT help me out. The driver that hit me was underinsured, but I thought, "That's fine, I have underinsured motorist coverage!". Guess again. My hospital costs alone were more than the other driver had in insurance ($30,000) and Allstate refused to pay me anything additional because she gave me the $30,000. Even though my costs far exceeded the $30,000 that she paid and I HAD UNDERINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE! Also I had PIP (Personal Injury Protection) and they paid me the $2,000 some dollars that I had in PIP, but when I recieved the $30,000 from the other driver, they took the $2,000 BACK! And remember she paid me $30,000 but my bills were like $80,000 so it wasn't like I was MAKING money here! My lawyer told me that Allstate never pays and that they are the worst. I have been trying to spread this knowledge to the public cause you never know how good or bad your insurance company is until you need them and by then it's too late! I was lying in a hospital bed, totally helpless and Allstate knew that and took full advantage! Please learn from my mistakes. Just say no to Allstate!
